Zudocks is a three-piece rock/pop-punk band from Grand Rapids, Michigan, formed in early 2022 by brothers Tristan LaPrise (vocals, guitar) and Evan LaPrise (guitar). What began as a casual creative outlet—posting acoustic cover videos of their favorite bands on Instagram—quickly evolved into a full-fledged original project. As the brothers began writing their own songs, they enlisted high school friends Aaron Huff (bass) and Devin Dora (drums) to help bring the music to life. Zudocks was born soon after.

Within months of forming, the band wrote, recorded, and released their debut single, “Daydream,” followed one month later by “All That Needs To Be Said.” Both tracks appeared on their debut album, Carnation Paul, released July 1, 2022. The record was written, recorded, and produced entirely DIY in the LaPrise brothers’ family basement, blending modern rock with strong ’90s influences inspired by bands like Oasis, Blur, Radiohead, Supergrass, and Foo Fighters.

After a year of playing shows throughout the greater Grand Rapids area, the band experienced their first lineup shift when drummer Devin Dora departed. In May 2023, Chance Evans joined on drums, bringing a new creative dynamic to the group. A multi-instrumentalist, Chance helped balance the band’s songwriting approach, which had previously been driven primarily by Tristan and Evan. By 2025, Chance began contributing his own song ideas, further expanding the band’s sound and creative voice.

Throughout 2023, Zudocks played more shows, sharpened their live performance, and grew increasingly confident on stage. That momentum carried into a new creative chapter with the release of “Skirmish” in November 2023—the first single with the new lineup. Additional singles followed in 2024, including “Sin,” “Idioms,” and “Tangerine Squeeze,” marking a clear stylistic shift toward a more focused pop-punk sound, moving away from the ’90s rock influences of their debut album.

Late 2024 brought a series of unexpected setbacks. The band was forced to pause live performances as Tristan recovered from a detached retina, Evan was involved in a car accident, and Chance dealt with fainting spells. With momentum temporarily stalled, the future felt uncertain—but Zudocks persevered, regrouping and continuing to write through adversity.

In 2025, the band returned with renewed focus, releasing three singles—“Refuse to Believe," “Dying Breed,” and “Lady”—which firmly cemented their modern pop-punk identity. That year also marked a major milestone with their first out-of-state performance at the Mile of Music Festival in Appleton, Wisconsin. Shortly before the release of their next project, longtime bassist Aaron Huff departed the band, marking another turning point in Zudocks’ evolution.

Those singles, along with three new tracks, were compiled on Zudocks’ latest EP, Self Evident, released January 9, 2026. The EP became the band’s most successful release to date, achieving their highest streaming numbers, merch sales, and show attendance yet.

In June of 2026, Jack Peake was announced as Zudocks' new bass player, turning the band back into a 4 piece, the way it was always intended to be.

Looking ahead to 2026, Zudocks are setting their sights on the Midwest and beyond. With plans to play shows across Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Wisconsin, the band is focused on expanding their reach, building their audience, and continuing to grow—driven by resilience, DIY roots, and an evolving creative voice.
